Good Scouting requires trained leaders doing what they are trained to do!

Training for Varsity Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Committee Chairman, and Committee Members is mandatory.
No leader can do their job without the tools necessary, and the Boy Scouts of America provide all those tools, and more!
Varsity Coaches and assistant Coaches have similar training requirements to Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters. Requirements for trained Varsity leaders are Varsity Fast Start Orientation, Youth Protection Training, New Leader Essentials, Varsity Coach Leader Specific Training, and Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills.

The committee chairman or committee member is considered trained when he or she has completed New Leader Essentials and the Leader Specific Training (Troop/Team Committee Challenge).
