The Council Training Committee (CTC) has been given the authority by the Council Executive Board, through the Scout Executive, to establish council policy related to program delivery. CTC has set a goal of having 100% trained leaders for all boys and young adults. To implement this policy CTC has established the following policy.
As a condition of rechartering, assuming a new leadership position, or when forming a new unit, all:
Cubmasters (CM),
Assistant Cubmasters (CA),
Tiger Cub Den Leaders (TL),
Den Leaders (DL),
Assistant Den Leaders (DA),
Webelos Leaders (WL),
Assistant Webelos Leaders (WA),
Scoutmasters (SM),
Assistant Scoutmasters (SA),
Varsity Coaches (VC),
Assistant Varsity Coaches (VA),
Venturing Crew Leaders (NL),
Assistant Venturing Crew Leaders (NA),
Committee Chairs (CC) of Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops,
Varsity Teams, and Venturing Crews must be trained in the training
appropriate to their position.
This training must be completed within ninety days (90) of their registration in that position.
All Units and Charter Partners are to assure that their leadership attends the appropriate training. District and Council will work together as a team to monitor training records. If an individual does not meet the above training requirement, the District Training Committee will work with them in acquiring their training. Training will be offered on a frequent enough basis to accommodate all those needed to be trained. The training schedule will be made available through the Scouting News, Roundtables, website, mailings, and to all new applicants.
